About
Peter Basta
Barrister & Solicitor · Founder, Basta Law Professional Corporation
Peter Basta is a barrister and solicitor licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and the founder of Basta Law Professional Corporation in Caledon. His practice focuses on criminal defence, family law, real estate, wills and powers of attorney, and corporate law.
Before opening his own practice, Peter practised criminal and family law at a firm in Orangeville. He managed files from intake through resolution, prepared materials for the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, and attended hearings, motions, conferences and negotiations. He completed his articling and placement work with law practices in Mississauga and Ottawa.
Before law, Peter spent nearly five years as a banking advisor with RBC Royal Bank in Mississauga. That work taught him that people make better decisions when someone explains their options plainly and then follows through. He brings the same approach to every file.
Peter speaks English and Arabic. Outside the office, he captains and coaches a men's soccer team.
